Baharat, meaning "spices" in Arabic, is a versatile aromatic blend central to the culinary traditions across the Middle East and parts of North Africa. This complex mixture varies significantly by region, with distinctive versions found throughout the Arabian Peninsula, Turkey, and the Eastern Mediterranean.
The foundation of traditional baharat typically includes black peppercorns, cardamom, cloves, cumin, nutmeg, coriander, and cinnamon.
